receive a respectable return on their investment.
It is the role of the Board of Directors in the following areas:
- Governing the organization by establishing broad policies and objectives;
- Selecting, appointing, supporting and reviewing the performance of the chief executive;
- Ensuring the availability of adequate financial resources;
- Approving annual budgets;
- Accounting to the stakeholders for the organization’s performance.

Datuk Dr. Mohd Daud Bakar is the Founder and Group Chairman of Amanie Group, an established Islamic finance boutique advisory firm based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He currently sits as a Chairman of the Shariah Advisory Council at the Central Bank of Malaysia, the Securities Commission of Malaysia, the Labuan Financial Services Authority and the International Islamic Liquidity Management Corporation (IILM).
He is also a Shariah board member of various financial institutions, including the National Bank of Oman (Oman), Noor Islamic Bank (Dubai), Amundi Asset Management (France), Morgan Stanley (Dubai), Bank of London and Middle East (London), BNP Paribas (Bahrain), Bank Al Khair (Bahrain), Islamic Bank of Asia (Singapore), Dow Jones Islamic Market Index (New York) and Financial Guidance (USA). The most recent achievement is when Datuk has been awarded as the “Shariah Scholar of the Year-2015” by London Sukuk Summit, June 2015.
With a successful fund management and research experience in Fortune 500 companies; managed Asia ex-Japan investment portfolio worth over USD250m and USD 5bn respectively, he is currently leading the Artificial Intelligence design and solutions for public, private and non-profit organisations.
Razi Pahlavi is the Managing Director of Amanie Holdings Ltd. The Group of Companies comprised under Amanie Holdings are Amanie Advisors; an established boutique advisory firm with 10 offices across the Globe. Razi is also the Executive Board Member of ICYEN [Islamic Countries Young Entrepreneurs Network] based in Istanbul, Turkey.
He graduated from International Islamic University Malaysia with a Master of Law [LLM] Banking Law and Bachelor Degree in Accounting [Honors]. He is a certified Chartered Accountant of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants [MIA], Islamic Financial Planner [IFP] and licensed New Capital Markets Services Representative with the Securities Commissions of Malaysia. Razi is also a PhD candidate from the International Islamic University Malaysia.
